Gifts of the Spirit Series
"Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant." ~ 1 Corinthians 12:1
What are spiritual gifts?
Are they relevant today in the 21st century?
Do you know your spiritual gift(s)?
What does the Bible say about how we should use these gifts?
1. Why do we need to learn about the gifts of the spirit? What are they? And what is their purpose? (1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Ephesians 4:11-13)
2. Part 2 in the Gifts of the Spirit series is on speaking in tongues and their interpretation. Speaking in tongues is a gift of inspiration; we should all desire to speak in tongues, but it is a gift fom God, and not a sign of spiritual superiority. Why should Christians desire to speak in tongues? What is it for? (1 Corinthians 12:1-11)
3. How do the prophets in the Old Testament differ from the gift of prophecy in the New Testament? What is the purpose of the gift of prophecy and how should it be used?

5. A word of knowledge is supernatural knowledge given by God, that results in the revelation of who Jesus is and builds up faith, among other characteristics. This talk goes through 3 examples in the Bible: the woman at the well, Nathanael, and Annanias and Sapphira.
6. From God's word all believers should have a general ability to discern between right and wrong, but having the gift of discernment of spirits enables one to distinguish between the work of the Holy Spirit, human spirit and demonic spirits.
7. Miracles defy explanation, logic and natural laws. They occur in response to a human need but also have a symbolic value, as God uses miracles to demonstrate the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.
8. Faith is a gift on three levels - saving faith that draws us into God's kingdom, having the faith to continue our walk with the Lord, and then the supernatural gift of faith talked about in verse 9 of 1 Cor 12. This gift of faith is given by God spontaneously for a particular situation.
9. Gift of Healing - this talk was not recorded. To fill in the gap, a summary of the main points covered is included here as a pdf document: Gift of Healing.pdf
